Reasons For Vision Loss & Maintaining Eye Health

Reasons For Vision Loss & Maintaining Eye Health

on Aug 08 2024
What is sudden vision loss? Sudden vision loss refers to a rapid and unexpected decrease in vision, which can occur over a few seconds to hours. It may affect one or both eyes and can be partial or complete. This condition requires instant medical attention as it often indicates a serious underlying issue, such as retinal detachment, vascular occlusions, or neurological disorders. Causes of Sudden Vision Loss 1. Vascular Causes Retinal Artery Occlusion This condition arises when an artery that supplies blood to the retina becomes obstructed. The retina needs a continuous flow of oxygen and nutrients provided by the blood. When an artery is blocked, it can lead to irreversible damage to the retina. Symptoms: Sudden, painless vision loss in one eye, often described as a curtain coming down over the field of vision. Causes: Common causes include atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), emboli (blood clots), and giant cell arteritis. 2. Retinal Detachment Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment The most prevalent form of retinal detachment happens when a tear or hole in the retina permits fluid to leak underneath, causing it to detach from the underlying tissue. Symptoms: Sudden appearance of floaters, flashes of light, and a shadow or curtain over a part of the visual field. Causes: Often related to aging, severe myopia (nearsightedness), trauma, or previous eye surgery. 3. Ocular Conditions Acute Angle-Closure Glaucoma A rapid rise in intraocular pressure caused by a blockage in the eye's drainage canals, resulting in a fluid buildup. Symptoms: Severe eye pain, headache, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, and seeing halos around lights. Causes: Can be triggered by pupil dilation in a person with a narrow drainage angle, often occurring in low light, during stress, or with certain medications. 4. Vitreous Hemorrhage Bleeding into the clear gel inside the eye that is between the lens and the retina. Symptoms: Sudden onset of floaters, blurry vision, or complete vision loss. Causes: Commonly caused by diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, trauma, or blood vessel abnormalities. Neurological Causes Optic Neuritis Inflammation of the optic nerve, responsible for transfering visual information from the eye to the brain. Symptoms: Sudden vision loss in one eye, pain with eye movement, and color vision changes. Causes: Commonly linked to multiple sclerosis, it can also result from infections or autoimmune diseases. Stroke A stroke affecting the visual pathways in the brain can result in vision loss. Symptoms: Unexpected vision loss in one or both eyes, often accompanied by other neurological symptoms like weakness, speech difficulties, or facial drooping. Causes: A stroke can be produced by a blood clot or bleeding in the brain, affecting the areas responsible for vision. 5. Inflammatory and Infectious Causes Uveitis Inflammation of the uvea, the middle layer of the eye that encompasses the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. Symptoms: Redness, pain, light sensitivity, blurred vision, and floaters. Causes: Can be caused by autoimmune diseases, infections, or trauma. Endophthalmitis Severe inflammation inside the eye, usually due to an infection. Symptoms: Severe pain, redness, swelling, decreased vision, and discharge from the eye. Causes: Often occurs after eye surgery, injections, or trauma. Bacterial or fungal infections are common culprits. 6. Trauma Ocular Trauma Injury to the eye can cause immediate and severe vision loss, depending on the extent and type of injury. Symptoms: Pain, redness, bleeding, swelling, and vision changes or loss. Causes: Direct blows to the eye, foreign bodies, chemical burns, or penetrating injuries. Factors that Increase the Risk of Blindness Medical Conditions Diabetes: Leads to diabetic retinopathy, which harms blood vessels in the retina. Glaucoma: Increased intraocular pressure harms the optic nerve. Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD): Deterioration of the central part of the retina. Cataracts: Clouding of the eye's lens, common in older adults. Hypertension: Elevated blood pressure harms the blood vessels in the retina. Retinal Detachment: The detachment of retina from its supportive tissue. Optic Neuritis: Inflammation of the optic nerve, many times associated with multiple sclerosis. Infections: Such as herpes simplex virus & cytomegalovirus, which can affect the eyes. Lifestyle Factors Smoking: Increases the risk of cataracts & AMD. Poor Diet: Lack of nutrients like vitamins A, C, E, and zinc can affect eye health. Exposure to UV Light: Prolonged exposure without protection can lead to cataracts and AMD. Prevention of Blindness Preventing blindness involves a combination of regular eye care, healthy lifestyle choices, and proactive management of underlying health conditions. Here are key strategies for the prevention of blindness: Regular Eye Examinations  Routine Check-ups: Schedule regular comprehensive eye exams, mainly if you have risk factors like high blood sugar or a family history of eye diseases. Early Detection: Early diagnosis of conditions like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) can prevent progression to blindness. Healthy Lifestyle Choices Balanced Diet: Take a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and omega-3 fatty acids. Nutrients like vitamins A, C, E, & zinc support eye health. Avoid Smoking: Smoking increases the risk of cataracts and AMD. Quitting smoking can significantly improve eye health. Manage Weight: Maintain a healthy weight to decrease the chances of diabetes & hypertension, both of which can lead to eye problems. Protection from UV Light Sunglasses: Wearing sunglasses that obstruct 100% of UVA & UVB rays save your eyes from cataracts and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Hats: Wearing a hat with a brim can provide additional protection from the sun. Control of Systemic Conditions Diabetes Management: Keep blood sugar levels under control to prevent diabetic retinopathy. Blood Pressure Control: Managing hypertension can reduce the risk of retinal vein occlusion and other vascular problems affecting the eyes. Regular Monitoring: If you have systemic diseases like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, work closely with your healthcare provider to monitor and manage any potential eye complications. Protective Eyewear Safety Glasses: Use suitable safety eyewear during activities that risk eye injury, such as sports, construction, or working with hazardous materials. Computer Screens: Use protective screen filters and take regular breaks to reduce eye strain when working on computers. Immunizations and Hygiene Vaccinations: Ensure vaccinations, especially for rubella and measles, which can prevent infections that lead to blindness. Good Hygiene: Practice good hygiene, such as proper handwashing & avoiding touching your eyes, to prevent infections like conjunctivitis. Avoiding Eye Strain Rest Breaks: Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to look at something 20 feet away to minimize eye strain. Proper Lighting: Ensure adequate lighting when reading or doing close work to avoid straining your eyes. Essential Tips for Ultraviolet Safety Awareness Month

Essential Tips for Ultraviolet Safety Awareness Month

on Jul 23 2024
Importance of Ultraviolet Awareness Month This month is marked as Ultraviolet Awareness Month, which promotes education and proactive measures to safeguard against the potential health risks posed by UV radiation. It emphasizes the importance of sun protection and eye care.   Exposure to UV rays can significantly affect the eyes, posing both short-term discomfort and long-term health risks. In the short term, UV rays can cause immediate symptoms such as redness, irritation, and a sensation of grittiness in the eyes, commonly known as photokeratitis or "snow blindness." Prolonged exposure to UV radiation without protection can lead to more serious conditions. These include cataracts, where the eye's lens becomes clouded, and macular degeneration, which affects the central part of the retina and can result in permanent vision loss. Therefore, it's crucial to wear sunglasses that offer UV protection and take other preventive measures, such as wearing wide-brimmed hats outdoors, especially during peak sunlight hours, to safeguard eye health. Given below is a detailed explanation of each eye care tip to protect your eyes from UV rays: Tips to Save Your Eyes From UV Rays Wear UV-Protective Sunglasses: Not all sunglasses provide adequate UV protection. Opt for the sunglasses that block 100% of both UVA and UVB rays. This information is typically found on a sticker or tag attached to the sunglasses, indicating UV 400 protection or stating that they offer 100% UV protection. UV radiation can contribute to many eye problems, including cataracts and macular degeneration, so wearing proper sunglasses is essential for long-term eye health. Wear a Wide-Brimmed Hat: A wide-brimmed hat provides additional protection by shading your eyes and surrounding facial skin from direct UV exposure. This is especially beneficial when you're in open areas with limited shade. The hat complements your sunglasses by reducing the amount of UV rays reaching your eyes and face. Check for Polarization: Polarized sunglasses diminish glare from reflective surfaces like water, snow, and roads. While polarization doesn't necessarily block UV rays, it enhances visual comfort and clarity outdoors. Look for sunglasses that are UV-protective and polarized for optimal eye protection and comfort in bright conditions. Use Wrap-around Styles: Sunglasses that wrap around your temples provide better coverage and protection from UV rays that can enter from the sides. This design helps to reduce UV exposure to both your eyes and the delicate skin surrounding them, thereby lowering the risk of sun damage. Limit Sun Exposure: Avoid prolonged exposure to UV rays, especially during midday when the sun's intensity is its peak (typically between 10 AM and 4 PM). If you need to be outdoors during these hours, take extra precautions by wearing sunglasses and a hat and seeking shade whenever possible. Jagat Pharma introduces a range of eye drops that protects eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays. Regular use of Isotine Plus I Eye Drop helps save your eyes from damaging UV radiation.  Regular Eye Exams: Routine eye checkups are important for monitoring overall eye health, including potential UV-related issues. An eye care professional can check for signs of UV damage, such as cataracts, pterygium (an overgrowth of tissue on the white part of the eye), and other conditions that may develop over time due to UV exposure. Consider UV-Protective Contact Lenses: Ask your eye care provider about UV-blocking contact lenses if you wear contact lenses. These lenses help protect the cornea and surrounding tissues from UV radiation. However, remember that contact lenses alone are not sufficient; wearing sunglasses is still necessary to protect the entire eye area. Understanding UVA & UVB Rays UV radiation, emitted by the sun, consists of two primary types that reach the Earth's surface: UVA and UVB rays. UVB rays, when absorbed by the cornea, can lead to immediate damage such as sunburn of the eyes (photokeratitis) or snow blindness with intense and prolonged exposure. UVA rays penetrate deeper into the eye, potentially causing long-term damage to the retina and increasing the risk of severe eye conditions like macular degeneration and cataracts over time. Prolonged exposure to UV rays without protection can damage various structures within the eye, potentially resulting in vision problems and eye diseases later in life. Therefore, wearing sunglasses that block 100% of both UVA and UVB rays is crucial for protecting the eyes from harmful UV radiation. Additionally, wearing wide-brimmed hats and seeking shade during peak sun hours can further reduce UV exposure to the eyes. Regular eye examinations are also essentail  for monitoring eye health and detecting any UV-related issues early. By understanding how UV rays impact the eyes and implementing preventive measures, individuals can greatly lower their chances of developing UV-related eye conditions and preserve clear vision for years to come. Conclusion Ultraviolet Awareness Month reminds us of the value of protecting our eyes from the damaging effects of Ultravoilet radiation, both for our skin and our eyes. By understanding the risks associated with UV exposure and implementing simple yet effective preventive measures such as wearing UV-protective sunglasses, using sunscreen, and seeking shade during peak sunlight hours, we can significantly reduce the likelihood of developing severe eye conditions like cataracts and macular degeneration. Regular eye checkups also play a crucial role in detecting any UV-related issues early on, ensuring timely intervention and maintaining optimal eye health. By fostering awareness and adopting proactive habits, we empower ourselves and future generations to enjoy the sun safely while preserving our vision for years. Let's prioritize UV protection year-round, not just during this dedicated awareness month, to safeguard our eyes and overall well-being.

अब सर्जरी नहीं दवाई से भी मोतियाबिंद का इलाज संभव, जानिए कैसे

on May 31 2024

10 Essential Nutrients That Improve Eyesight

on May 20 2024
Good eyesight is crucial for our daily functioning and overall well-being. Proper eye nutrition, including foods high in antioxidants like vitamin C and beta-carotene, is essential for maintaining clear vision and preventing age-related eye diseases. While genetics plays an essential role in determining our eye health, incorporating certain nutrients into our diet can also enhance and maintain our vision. Let's explore the top nutrients for eye health that improve eyesight and maintain optimal vision. Best Nutrients for Eye Health Vitamin A: Vitamin A is essential to maintain good vision, particularly in low-light conditions. It helps form rhodopsin, a pigment found in the retina that aids in night vision. Sources of vitamin A include carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, and liver. Vitamin C: Vitamin C, an antioxidant, helps protect the eyes from oxidative stress and the harm produced by free radicals. It also helps support the health of blood vessels in the eyes, reducing the risk of conditions like cataracts and macular degeneration. Citrus fruits, bell peppers, strawberries, and broccoli are excellent sources of vitamin C. Vitamin E: Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, shielding the eyes from oxidative harm while bolstering the health of eye cell membranes, thus fostering optimal vision. Foods like nuts, seeds, vegetable oils, and leafy greens are abundant sources of this essential nutrient.  Zinc: Zinc's pivotal function lies in ferrying vitamin A from the liver to the retina, facilitating the production of melanin, a vital protective pigment crucial for maintaining eye health. It also helps maintain the structure of eye tissues and supports the functioning of enzymes involved in visual signalling. Oysters, beef, poultry, beans, and nuts are excellent sources of zinc. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), are essential for developing and maintaining retinal health. They help prevent dry eyes, reduce the risk of macular degeneration, and support overall eye function. Fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines, and flaxseeds & walnuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Lutein and Zeaxanthin: Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids and act as antioxidants in the eyes, protecting them from harmful blue light and oxidative damage. They also help maintain the density of macular pigment, which is crucial for central vision and reducing the risk of age-related macular degeneration. Leafy greens, egg yolks, corn, and peppers are excellent sources of lutein and zeaxanthin. Beta-Carotene: Beta-carotene acts as a precursor for the production of vitamin A and is a powerful antioxidant, crucial for sustaining optimal vision. It shields the eyes from harm induced by UV radiation and oxidative stress, thereby diminishing the likelihood of cataracts and macular degeneration. Carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and spinach are rich sources of beta-carotene. Riboflavin (Vitamin B2): Riboflavin is vital for sustaining corneal health and averting conditions such as cataracts and keratoconus. Additionally, it aids in the absorption of other essential nutrients crucial for eye well-being, including vitamins A and C. Rich dietary sources of riboflavin include milk, eggs, lean meats, and green leafy vegetables. Copper: Copper, a trace mineral, holds significant importance in the synthesis of melanin, a protective pigment shielding the eyes against UV damage and oxidative stress. Moreover, it fosters the well-being of blood vessels within the eyes and aids in preserving the structural integrity of eye tissues. Abundant sources of copper include shellfish, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. Selenium: Selenium, a crucial mineral, collaborates with antioxidants such as vitamin E to safeguard the eyes against oxidative harm. Additionally, it aids in the activity of enzymes engaged in thyroid hormone metabolism, thus indirectly influencing eye health. Excellent dietary sources of selenium encompass Brazil nuts, seafood, whole grains, and eggs.  Incorporating different nutrient-rich foods into your diet is essential for maintaining good eyesight and preventing eye-related problems. By ensuring adequate intake of vitamins A, C, and E, zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zeaxanthin, beta-carotene, riboflavin, copper, and selenium, you can support your eye health and enjoy clear vision for years to come. Best Foods to Improve Eyesight Leafy greens such as spinach contain lutein and zeaxanthin, antioxidants that decrease the risk of developing eye conditions like macular degeneration and cataracts. Carrots contain beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, essential for maintaining optimal vision, particularly in low-light conditions. Sweet potatoes, akin to carrots, are rich in beta-carotene and also offer a generous supply of vitamin E, aiding in the prevention of age-related macular degeneration. Citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruits, and lemons are abundant in vitamin C, an antioxidant that may diminish the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. Berries, such as strawberries and blueberries, are abundant in antioxidants like vitamin C, potentially safeguarding the eyes against harm caused by free radicals.  Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, essential for eye health, fatty fish like salmon and mackerel may provide protection against dry eyes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.  Nuts like almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, and chia seeds are loaded with vitamin E & omega-3 fatty acids, potentially helping to prevent age-related eye conditions.  Eggs are a notable source of lutein, zeaxanthin, and zinc, all vital for maintaining overall eye health. Bell peppers, known for their vibrant colors, are rich in both vitamin C and beta-carotene, contributing to optimal eye health. Whole grains like quinoa, whole wheat bread, and brown rice are abundant sources of vitamin E, zinc, and niacin, potentially lowering the risk of developing cataracts and macular degeneration. Incorporating these foods into your diet and a balanced and healthy lifestyle can help support and improve your eye health over time. Isotine Plus Eye Drops for Eye Health Isotine Plus Eye Drop is an Ayurvedic proprietary remedy purported to aid various eye conditions, including diabetic retinopathy. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that while some individuals may find relief with alternative treatments like Isotine Plus, scientific evidence specifically for diabetic retinopathy is limited. Diabetic retinopathy necessitates careful management and treatment under qualified medical supervision. Concurrently, Isotine Plus Eye Drop's Ayurvedic formulations may provide symptomatic relief or support overall eye health. Treatment for diabetic retinopathy typically involves controlling high blood sugar, pressure, and lipid levels to halt further retinal vessel damage, with medical interventions such as laser therapy, injections, or surgery as considerations. Isotine Plus Eye Drop's affordability enhances accessibility for those seeking potential relief for various eye conditions. Conclusion In summary, prioritizing eye health is vital for overall wellness, and a balanced diet rich in essential nutrients is key to supporting clear vision. Including nutrient-dense foods such as leafy greens, fatty fish, nuts, and citrus fruits can aid in preventing age-related eye issues and maintaining optimal visual health. Nonetheless, for conditions like diabetic retinopathy, seeking advice from qualified medical experts remains imperative.
The Ayurvedic Eye Drops to Treat Dry Eyes Complications

The Ayurvedic Eye Drops to Treat Dry Eyes Complications

on Oct 13 2023
Dry eyes are a usual but very challenging disease that may disturb your regular life. Besides modern medicine, Ayurveda offers a practical and permanent treatment for this problem by providing eye drops for dry eyes. The course of treatment includes multiple natural therapies, herbal concoctions, and some lifestyle modifications. It is a holistic approach that thousands worldwide have accepted and appreciated. What are Dry Eyes? A dry eye occurs due to a lack of moisture inside the eyes. The condition results from reduced secretion of tears or degraded quality of tears. The composition of tears is affected by the disturbed ratio of salt and water in the tears. Sometimes, the blockade of the meibomian gland also leads to this problem. Causes of Dry Eyes: Doctors define several reasons for this condition: Ageing Increased stress from work and anxiety Lack of sleep Prolonged exposure to dusty climate Too much exposure to air-conditioned or heated environments Prolonged use of contact lenses without gap eye allergies, Mental stress and pressure exposure to harmful chemicals. The habit of smoking after cataract or LASIK surgery. Apart from these reasons, doctors also state that dry eyes result from metabolic disorders, allergic reactions, and several autoimmune diseases. In such scenarios, Ayurvedic eye drops for eyes could provide instant relief and, when taken regularly, heal you from dry eye problems. Symptoms of Dry Eye Disease The primary symptoms associated with dry eye disease encompass heightened sensitivity to light, blurred vision, persistent headaches, redness, discomfort, excessive tearing, and a sensation of foreign objects in the eyes. In recent years, the widespread use of digital devices has led to digital eye strain (DES) or computer vision syndrome, affecting up to 50% of regular device users. DES results from prolonged screen usage and may lead to symptoms like blurred vision, neck and shoulder pain, and dry eyes. Reduced blinking during screen use contributes to dry eyes, as blinking cleanses and lubricates the eyes. Dry eye disease can lead to complications such as corneal ulcers and conjunctivitis if left untreated. Seeking timely treatment is essential to prevent these issues and ensure optimal eye health. Ayurvedic eye drops for dry eyes offer a natural and holistic approach to managing dry eye syndrome and promoting ocular well-being. How Does Digital Eye Strain Contribute to the Onset of Dry Eye Syndrome? Digital eye strain (DES) can trigger dry eye syndrome caused by prolonged screen use. Screens emit blue light, and although it's less intense than sunlight, extended exposure can damage the eye's surface cells, potentially leading to dry eyes. Additionally, people blink less frequently while using screens, reducing the eye's natural cleansing and lubrication mechanism. Let's discuss both the facts elaborately. Exposure to Blue Light Various sources, including the sun, indoor lighting, and screens on digital devices, emit blue light. Although the energy levels of blue light emitted by these devices are significantly lower than that of sunlight, eye care professionals have become increasingly concerned about the extended durations people spend using screens and the proximity of these screens to their faces. Reduced Blinking Insufficient blinking of eyes is another factor that can lead to dry eyes during screen usage. People tend to blink less when engrossed in reading text or viewing images on a digital screen, with the blink rate decreasing by 66% when using a computer. Blinking plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and comfort of our eyes. Each blink serves to cleanse the ocular surface of debris and provide lubrication, so a decrease in blinking results in more significant Irritation and dryness. Risk Factors Associated With Dry Eye Disease If left unaddressed for an extended period, dry eye disease can progress to a chronic stage. Seeking treatment before this stage is advisable, as several complications may arise from dry eye disease, including: Corneal Ulcer: The cornea serves as the outer protective layer of the eyes, remaining transparent and moist through its connection with the tear duct located at the edge of the eyes. When the tear ducts fail to supply adequate moisture to the cornea, it becomes susceptible to tearing from various points, resulting in ulcers. Conjunctivitis: Neglected dry eyes can also lead to inflammation and irritating the conjunctiva, which is the transparent layer safeguarding the white portion of the eyes. This condition results in redness, excessive tearing, swelling, Irritation, and persistent eye itching, collectively called conjunctivitis. People face challenges in reading, writing, and keeping their eyes open. Home Remedies for Dry Eyes Dry eyes can be uncomfortable, but one can try several home remedies to relieve the symptoms. However, you must consult an eye doctor or Ayurvedic healthcare professional if you have chronic or severe dry eye symptoms, as they may require medical treatment. Here are some home remedies for dry eyes: Hydration - Ensure you properly hydrate the body with appropriate water and fluid intake. The Ayurvedic body constitution states that 1-3 litres of fluid is required daily. Vata and Pitta types require more liquids, while Kapha types require less. Food & Diet - A healthy diet containing fresh and natural food like seasonal vegetables and fruits is vital to inclusion in the daily diet. Along with a balanced diet, a good intake of nuts like almonds and raisins also suffices the daily requirement of vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. Individuals who suffer from metabolic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease should avoid using fast food items, butter spicy food, staple food, aerated cold drinks and processed foodstuff as they are harmful to dry eyes.  Sleep - Sleep is the best medicine your eyes can get, and a sound sleep of six to eight hours is a must, else the chances of dry eyes may increase. Symptoms: This condition encompasses a range of symptoms and most of them can be managed by Ayurvedic eye drops for dry eyes as well as home remedies, including: Dry eyes Redness Excessive tearing Blurred vision Sensitivity to light Irritated or scratchy eyes Read More: The Ayurvedic Eye Drops to Treat Dry Eyes Complications 1.  Natural remedies for dry eyes: Natural Eye Drops In case your tear production is insufficient, artificial tears can be a solution. Over-the-counter lubricating eye drops are designed to bolster your tear film, providing protection to your eye's surface. The ISOAMRIT Ayurvedic Eye Drops aids in moisturizing and hydrating the eyes, while also offering relief to dry and irritated eyes, ultimately contributing to the restoration of natural eye health. The natural ingredients present in eye drops provide lubrication for the eyes, alleviating dryness and discomfort. Offering soothing relief from itching and burning sensations, they effectively reduce redness and further enhance overall comfort by moisturizing tired eyes. How to use it: For application, gently pull down your lower eyelid, then place 2 drops in each eye. Following this, close your eyes to rest, and finally, swipe away any excess liquid to complete the process. 2.  Chamomile Chamomile possesses numerous advantageous qualities as a plant, most notably recognized for its anti-inflammatory attributes. Chamomile's anti-inflammatory nature is adept at providing relief to dry and irritated eyes. Individuals dealing with dry eye syndrome can find relief by applying chamomile tea bags to their eyes, effectively minimizing symptoms and enhancing comfort.  How to use it: Prepare a chamomile infusion, soak two cotton pads in it, and gently place them on your eyes for a duration of 5 to 10 minutes. 3. Drink Water While tears comprise more than just water, water constitutes the most substantial portion, accounting for 98% of their composition. The remaining 2% comprises oils, salts, and over 1,500 proteins. Consequently, inadequate water intake can lead to reduced tear production. You may have come across the recommendation that adults should consume 6–8 glasses of 250 mL (8 fl oz) water daily. While this guideline can be useful, it may not suit everyone perfectly. The ideal amount of water you need varies based on factors like activity level, health status, and surroundings. If you're uncertain about your optimal water intake, starting with the 6–8 glass guideline is a good approach.  How to use it: Well! Just drink plenty of water throughout the day and that's the best way to use water for your Dry eye problems. 4. Wash your eyelids If you're dealing with dry eyes, consider giving special attention to that region while cleansing your face. To alleviate irritation, you can consider using a mild soap or baby shampoo to clean your eyelids and the surrounding area. The best way to keep your eyelids clean is using Jagat Pharma’s eyelid wipes. How to do it:  Close your eyes, softly massage the area with the cleanser, and afterward, rinse with cool or lukewarm water. For using wipes, simply take out one of our wipes using clean hands and wipe off the eye lids. These are just a few ways to prevent as well as manage the symptoms of dry eyes using natural means. If your condition worsens, then it is always advisable to consider seeing an Ayurvedic doctor.
